Karen History, Culture and Language and the Adult Education Classroom presented by the Karen Organization of Minnesota

Cost: There is no fee for this training, but your tax-deductible donation will support our tutor training program and literacy learners across Minnesota!

Presenter: Karen Organization of Minnesota

Description: Hundreds of Karen learners have attended adult education classes in Minnesota, primarily in Saint Paul, Albert Lea and Worthington. Join this session to gain essential background knowledge in order to intersect your own culture with that of Karen learners. The session will include information on Karen history, culture, life in the US and language. Participants will also reflect on how they can apply this new knowledge to their work with Karen adult education students.

Please note that you may be asked to participate in discussion groups during the webinar. Please plan to join us from a quiet setting where you can see the PowerPoint slides and use your audio.

CEUs will be emailed to participants after the webinar, typically within 1-2 business days. Please note that if you miss more than 15 minutes of the session, we are unable to issue you CEUs or count your attendance towards a certificate.
