Remember This?! Series: Reading ESL Instructional Support Kit

For this installment of the Remember This?! Series where we remember great resources for tutoring and teaching, let’s look at our Reading ESL Instructional Support Kit! 

All five ESL Instructional Support Kits were created to help teachers, tutors and volunteers reduce their prep time by having flexible, grab-and-go activities to use in one-on-one, small group or all-class contexts. Just yesterday I received a phone call at the main office from someone interested in these kits, which he had heard about from a teacher he knew. They are classic tools that don't lose their value as the years go by. 

The Reading ESL Instructional Support Kit in particular includes several activities in each of three categories–pre-reading, fluency and post-reading–that are appropriate for beginning to advanced levels of ESL. The kit also includes a brief definition and explanation of the importance of each of these three types of activities. So, download a copy of the kit and learn about–or get reacquainted with–more than two dozen reading activities, like making predictions in various ways, duet reading and detail chain, to name just a few!
