- Proxy Hours Equivalent/Criteria for Awarding Proxy Hours - this is not a time-on-task platform: 15 minutes (.25 proxy hours) per completed reading and quiz (the comprehension questions). The reading and the comprehension questions (quiz) can be completed online OR on paper by using the ReadTheory worksheets. Here's the link to the worksheets: https://readtheory.org/reading-comprehension-worksheets/ ReadTheory.org has the option to turn on additional writing prompts. The worksheets also each contain a writing prompt. An additional 15 minutes (.25 proxy hours) can be collected for learners who complete the writing prompt (online or on paper), if the teacher can verify its completion and is satisfied with the learner's work, for a total of 30 minutes (.5 proxy hours) per completed ReadTheory online reading and/or worksheet.
- Proxy Hour Documentation: Please watch this short screencast, with audio, on how to see the Progress Report and Quizzes and tocalculate proxy hours. This Read Theory Proxy Hours Worksheet may be helpful.
- Proxy Hour Logs: If teachers/programs are collecting proxy hours for completed paper worksheets, please make a Log (choose Private or Public) in SID for each student noting the details of what, when, and how many readings the student has completed. This log can be done on a monthly basis or more often; whatever is tenable for your program's distance learning reporting best practice.
