Brief Description

Brief Description: Northern Star Online is a consortium of school districts that offer credit recovery classes for students working on diploma credits. Classes are taught by licensed teachers in a variety of core content areas. All of their courses are aligned with Minnesota State Standards. This is a stand-alone program (not for a blended classroom).

Prerequisites: Requirements are the same for an Over 21+ year old to be in a diploma program. TABE Reading GLE 6 on a TABE D .

Proxy Hours

Proxy Hours Equivalent: 50 proxy hours for earning a quarter credit; 65 hours for earning a trimester credit; 80 hours for earning a semester credit. Add 25% to account for teacher time with student.
Criteria for awarding Proxy Hour Equivalent: Earned credit met by meeting course requirements.
Proxy Hour Documentation: Teacher verified completion of a workbook unit, which includes a short test.
