The annotate feature in Zoom is a handy, easy-to-use tool you can use to enhance your online lessons, especially when using materials that were originally designed to be used in hardcopy form in in-person learning. In this three-minute video*, see how to use the spotlight, text and draw tools.
- Spotlight works like a red laser pointer, drawing students' attention to the area of the page you want them to look at.
- The text tool allows users to insert a textbox anywhere on the screen, and is useful for modeling how to fill in an exercise.
- The draw tool works like a pencil and can be used to cross items off or to write.
Don't worry--when you us the annotate feature, learners viewing your Zoom meeting will not see the annotate toolbar. They will just see what you can do with it: spotlighting, typing text and drawing. Watch the video, play around with it in Zoom and then try it in class with learners. Enjoy!
