Jessica Jones
Since 2004, Jessica has served adult learners at Literacy Minnesota by coordinating volunteers, managing learning centers, writing published curriculum and teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and computer classes. She currently teaches advanced ESL learners at our Open Door Learning Center on the east side of St. Paul. Jessica holds a M.Ed from the University of Minnesota in Learning Technologies and an Adult ESL Certificate from Hamline University.
Her passion for adult education began as an undergraduate volunteer. That experience underscored the amazing resiliency of adult learners in the face of many learning obstacles. Jessica is interested in closing the digital knowledge divide through technology instruction that engages critical thinking and student-to-student communication. She regularly presents to teachers throughout the state on course design, technology education, and phonics and reading instruction.
Jessica loves to cook whatever is growing in her back yard and spends her free time exploring museums, playgrounds, parks and festivals with her family.
